Very Late: Early March 2009 Loot

March 6th, 2009 Loot

I found some pictures I meant to post up back in March but that was when this blog went on Hiatus. So let’s post them up now, it’ll still be fun to take a look at what I got approximately half a year ago. First up are these Code Geass Sexy C.C. figurines. I became a big fan for Code Geass as soon as I got done watching it so I knew I had to get these.

I couldn’t decide which one of these two I wanted to I got both as they weren’t expensive at all! They’re UFO prizes by Banpresto, I think they were $20-25 dollars each? Quality isn’t bad for the price tag either, I’ll post pictures of them later.

Next up is Matsumoto. I usually don’t care about figurines like this because… Well, she’s not my type. My friend talked me into it though, looking at all the prototype pictures and all. Believe it or not, I’m sort of disappointed at the actual figurine. The face is off, mis-aligned, and the lipstick really throws it off from the original feel. The coloration and proportions (Yes.) are true to the anime, though. Here’s some pictures of the original:

I even got a new pencil sharpener in this shipment! I probably won’t use it though, I’d have too much fun with it. Teehee. ♥
Introducing, Kodomo no Jikan’s Play Stationary Kokonoe Rin.

What does it do exactly? Well, let’s go to the proto pics!

Sexy, no? Like I said, I probably would never use this. I don’t want dirty stains on her…
Sadly, the actually quality is nothing compared to the original. Colors are solid and the paint is of poor standards.

For those that saw my first picture and is a fan of Ikki Tousen… You -must- be eyeing this.

One of the most beautiful figurine of Kanu ever made. It’s not slutty (Thank heavens). The price raped my wallet though.
I won’t bother opening this one so more pictures for your figurine enjoyment:

Aside from Ikki Tousen, if you’re a Final Fantasy fan- you should of spotted these on the left side.

Dissidia

I got two cases just in case. Knowing Square Enix is a prick, there’s no way they’ll put the entire selection into one case. I was right when I opened it too because I got four Tidus’ out of a six total box.
But in the end, I got all of them. They’re now distributing them in America now in individual packaging and not in blind boxes. I feel so robbed.

That’s all for the loot this time! I’m sure I’ll have more for you next time you drop by. See you soon!

Haruhi Suzumiya Figma Summer Version

It’s almost summer time again!
You know what that means, right? Conventions!
Sorry for the lack of updates for the past week or two.
I just got a new internship (YES!) and midterms (NO!).
Reallllly busy here.

So this is Max Factory’s new Figma, going to be released in April.
Retail price of 2,500 yen.

You saw this coming, right?
I’ve always been in love with Haruhi’s Ponytail look…
I also want the camera and bag for my other figmas.
Feel free to check on the preview images to enlarge them!

Has Max Factory gone lazy with posing creatively?
At least Lucky Star uniforms look more different with their summer and winter uniforms.
Oh boy.

The Feeling of a New Figure is Like…

When I get a new figure either in the mail or at a store, the feeling is always the same when I try to open it. The little clear tape or sticker at the edges always make me wonder if I should use scissors or an x-acto knife this time. I’d never ever open one by peeling- I love to keep the boxes neat and not having the paint stick off to the sticker. Anyway, back to the opening… it’s like, like… cutting the umbilical cord from a baby from its mother. Yes, I’m setting it free and into the smoky and pollution filled air but don’t worry, I’ll protect you.If I get one from the mail, there’s also the fact that the paint job isn’t good or maybe the box gets crushed. Sometimes, the figure even gets broken. I only order online for figures I know I can’t get in stores around here. Usually, I don’t buy online unless I’ve seen it for myself before somewhere else. Usually at a friend’s place or at a store’s exclusively expensive displays. For us collectors, we know how prototype pictures can be deceiving and the final mass-produced paint job or sculpt job might be bad. You’ll never know until you see one that’s from the factory.
